Yesterday 3/9/22 I waited 2 hours before I got to talk to anyone. The twenty-four hours before I waited over an hr. Meanwhile I was worried my battery on my landline telephone was not going to make it. The lady said they hired 20 more people just it seems that did not assist my situation of trying to reach them sooner. I don't know whether to go to a new provider if that is happening everywhere because of Covid. Withal we don't take to wear our masks anymore then I don't know what the issue is at this fourth dimension. Purely disgusted. They requite me a telephone call yesterday to charge per unit the service with the lady just not the state of affairs I am facing.

I've called countless times, emailed through the portal, etc. I've waited on hold for literal hours--once I was offered a callback simply that never came either. Finally decided to effort my luck at the patient portal submission...over a month later I finally received a very obvious response which is why I was calling in the first identify TO ASK QUESTIONS. I don't understand why the art of getting to talk to someone has completely gone away. I'm non an idiot...I read my statement of benefits explanation only I take follow upwardly questions and believe I'm beingness charged incorrectly.

After moving to a new state state, we immediately applied for a new health insurance policy through CareFirst. It has been over a month of continuously calling and speaking to multiple agents giving united states inconsistent information on if they received our charter and utility bills for proof of relocation or not. This is later faxing and emailing this information on more than ane occasion. It is very concerning to meet how a company operates when the simplest things similar enrollment cannot be done in a straightforward fashion.

Need to correct some of the information...

I accept a high deductible programme with CareFirst. I also had chest cancer and establish out in Oct of 2020. I can tell you based on my experience, their refusal to pay for things could have had a very negative impact on my care. I'chiliad lucky that I'thousand ok at present, but I'm not sticking with CareFirst considering I want to live, and they don't care if I exercise not.

My first complaint is that I've spent close to $13K on healthcare when I should have been covered. I'grand counting this deduction in my salary and I'1000 non going to work for a company where I'm getting paid 13K less, so I will leave my job at the end of the yr. I say this so whatever company because a Carefirst high deductible plan should know, your staff like me, may leave equally a result.

2nd complaint - They could have killed me. They delayed me getting my Oncotype and BRCA Gene Breast Cancers test results by refusing to pay for them. Looks similar they eventually paid $100 for the Oncotype and zero for BRCA. Both of these tests are mutual and important in treating breast cancer and have a meaning bear upon on the handling plans and timing. Had my Oncotype indicated an aggressive tumor, the two-month delay in getting those test results could accept immune an ambitious tumor to metastasize. I'm lucky, my results were good, simply for someone with an ambitious tumor, that two-month delay could be the divergence between life and decease. Added note I paid $700 for the BRCA tests, which doesn't even go against my out-of-pocket costs maximums. Information technology's just more money from me.

They also continue refusing to pay for Proton treatments, which I'yard guessing I'thou going to be paying an additional $2.5K out of pocket for. Proton treatments are very common treatments for chest cancer equally they cause less harm than traditional radiations treatments, and are covered past nearly insurance carriers including Medicare. Of course, BCBS doesn't care if I live or die because my company will just replace me with another worker that volition pay their premium. Until they go frustrated and quit the company too.

In decision: I exercise not recommend them. If you lot apply for a chore with CareFirst equally the Medical, I would decline that job.

Beware of Carefirst Bluecross Blueshield. Please read this complaint, and then yous will choose some other supplemental insurance carrier. My mother, Eileen ** passed away in October 2020 at the historic period of 97. She had CareFirst for decades as her supplemental health insurance. I reported her decease to CareFirst, Wells Fargo and Wesbanco and closed those accounts to forbid any future fraudulent monthly billing. Care First assured me that I was due a refund for the rest of the month. I told them that my mother's credit card was inactivated. CareFirst said they would send a refund cheque. Wells Fargo assured me that her credit card was immediately inactivated and at that place would be no further transactions immune.

In February I realized I had received neither a refund nor a letter of condolences from CareFirst. In the following three weeks I made many calls. Each time I was told by the person I spoke with that they would go dorsum with me. I requested to speak with a supervisor with four dissimilar agents. My requests were denied. Finally, I was told I had to complain to Wells Fargo. Apparently, CareFirst sent 2 refunds of $838.87 and $6.91 to Wells Fargo in Dec. Wells Fargo told me to contact CareFirst and simply take then rescind their refunds so send me a bank check. Further conversations with CareFirst once again was merely a waste material of fourth dimension. They take never provided me with any written or verbal response, indicating why they would not send a refund every bit promised.

How can CareFirst issue a refund to a credit card to a fellow member's credit card later she has passed away, and they credit card has been cancelled? It is their responsibility to issue a refund to the appropriate political party. Information technology is pitiful the way that CareFirst has treated me. and the My mother spent tens of thousands of dollars over thirty years and at present they will not send a refund. Tony **

I pay out of pocket for CareFirst insurance. My ID menu has the dentist and location on the carte. I went to have services done on September 15, 2020. I checked the CareFirst website and noticed the claims for a routine cleaning was denied. On October vi, 2020 I contacted CareFirst and was told I went to a doctor out of network. I explained that was not truthful, I went to the location on my card. The rep stated he will exist sending the claim back through and it would take 7 to 10 business days. ten business days later, I called back because nothing inverse on the website. That rep stated she was putting the claim through once more and it would take 7 to 10 business days. Ok 10 business organization days later all the same and event and I calls back. This rep states she is sending it through again and claims can take 15 to 30 business days.

Ok hither we are 23 business days in and not one indication that they are working on this effect. I owe a bill that I should not exist owing and I need further piece of work done but tin can't considering I owe a pecker that I should not owe. Now, every bit I blazon this I am on hold waiting for a supervisor and the rep keeps stating no supervisor is available. Well sir, guess what I will hold. I am not hanging upwards until someone does their job. This is ridiculous.

Do Non attempt to go a "Costless routine physical" from BCBS CareFirst. You will open yourself up to many many many bills from services and billing parties y'all never heard of conjuring up reasons to accept your money. They are crooks and grifters. When information technology comes to health care in America Cipher IS FREE NO MATTER WHAT THIS INSURANCE PROVIDE GUARANTEES. My doctor'due south office used the wrong code to bill me, the third party billing company put my address in wrong. And all of these errors/mistakes were my responsibility to fix. Information technology took me 8 hours of phone calls and paperwork and runaround to avoid well-nigh of the bills, merely they are still coming. I get a new beak from a new mysterious visitor every week from a routine physical that should be covered and "Free". Information technology is not. It is a lie.

It is a HDHP HMO with PPO out of surface area. You tin't beat the BCBC provider network and predictability of costs with co-payments instead of coinsurance. CareFirst has a great network where I live in the Washington, DC metro area. The only downside is their customer service is below average.

I recently submitted a claim and after submitting, received the popup with the reference number and also received electronic mail. Now, beingness the first time I split the claim in example something went incorrect, didn't want to put all the eggs in ane basket to so speak. When I logged back in to create another merits I notice in that location were no submissions shown that I had entered. I contacted tech support and while nice plenty were non able to recover it ... fine, I'll do it again.

The second fourth dimension I may have entered the wrong accost, abode address instead of clinic address. I emailed to come across if they could check. While waiting for email I created a second claim. When I somewhen received email I was told once submitted no corrections could exist fabricated, non fifty-fifty the address. They so said it appears I already resubmitted the merits. I wrote back and explained no I didn't resubmit the claim, they are two dissimilar claims. I then received an email back stating that there is no way to cancel a claims submission and the claim volition be processed twice, ane will deny every bit a duplicate. Commencement time using CareFirst support - not remotely impressed! -Rick
